Previous to this trip, we didn't even know this little island existed. We stayed at Dunedin Sun RV Resort and had an absolute blast taking advantage of the sights and small town vibe. Here are my top suggestions when staying in this town.

Bring your bikes!
The trails were perfect for mountain biking on Honeymoon Island. There's a small fee to enter Honeymoon Island State Park for the day, but it's definitely worth it. I was very out of shape and am not a regular bike rider, and the trails were fairly easy. They're shaded and wide paths so it was easy to share the path with the walkers and/or other bike riders out there. It was a quiet ride and we saw an eagle's nest at the end of the island! There was a nice area to sit and have lunch after your ride too. You can take an alternate path back along the water as well.
The Beach
There's plenty of beach along the causeway to Honeymoon island, however if you want a beach to lay out on, I suggest getting onto the island itself. The water was a beautiful light blue, there's a food truck and a small store that sold some food as well as shirts and sunglasses. One part of the beach was strictly shells underfoot and we found some really beautiful ones.
Frenchy's Outpost Bar and Grill
We love to cook at our camper, but we also love to find new restaurants to eat at to get the feel for the town. We discovered Frenchy's on Causeway Blvd in Dunedin and I'm so glad we did! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was super fun. There's outdoor dining with fun music and character. Make sure you plan ahead and expect to wait a bit - it's a popular spot! I definitely recommend the key lime pie - it was to die for!
Breakfast at Benedict's
Did I already say we like to eat? Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, so trying a new place for eggs, sausage and coffee is always on my list! This place doesn't look like much on the outside but the food was delicious. There's a small amount of outdoor dining and a really large indoor dining.
Shops at Downtown Dunedin
Downtown Dunedin has a ton of character with many different types of shops to explore and restaurants to eat at. It's a few blocks and an easy walk to see everything. The streets are made for walking and on a weekend evening there was only a small crowd with most everyone already at dinner. There was also an ice cream shop on the corner we stopped at and had a root beer float. Everyone was super friendly in downtown Dunedin, making it a pleasant stop.

Fishing... well, sort of
The water was beautiful, and we stopped along the causeway beach to wade out and cast our lines. People around us were catching a good bit of fish, but neither of us got a bite. We still had a great time and brought lunch to picnic at the beach. We even had a visitor.
